Tonight is Friday night in Pantibar, because you see, tomorrow is "Good Friday" and... wait for it!... because some people are religious and adhere to one particular religion, there is a real actual law that says that I can't open my place of business tomorrow... honest!... because if I do my job tomorrow, these people who belong to a religion I'm nothing to do with, might be upset. Really! I'm not making this up! I SWEAR! And the funny part is they might be upset even though their guy - his name is Jesus - never said nothin' about stopping me or anyone else from working on this day, or (*clutches pearls*) having a drink. In fact, last I heard he was into turning water into wine and if I could pull off that trick my profit margin would be so that I wouldn't have to open every Friday!
Swear to Dolly, I did not make that all up. It's all gospel (or whatever you're having yourself) (as long as it's not a drink!)
Aaaaaaanyway, the upshot is we're having Friday tonight instead so DJ Steobear will be on the decks, till midnight when the police will be coming around on their super-important mission to make sure that nobody is having a drink after midnight on the day arbitrarily chosen to commemorate the death of the bloke that some people have decided was the son of Jehovah (based on fairly flimsy evidence to be honest).
Aaaaanygay, on the bright side: we have the day off tomorrow! Thanks Jesus! Turns out you did die for my sins 'cos there's a good chance I'll be doing loads of sinning tomorrow. If you need me I'll be getting locked with everyone else at some party. Yey!

... for our staff Christmas party!
We're too busy around Christmas to have our party then, though admittedly we don't usually wait till March! But the weather seems to still think it's December so pretending it's Christmas won't be much of a stretch. Happy Christmas!
Normal service will return, somewhat hungover, on Thursday.

Pantibar is open from 3pm today and here's a preview of the ass I'll be working to celebrate our national holiday. Dizzy and I will be actin' the fool, playing records and havin' the craic till 9pm and then DJ Steobear will be taking over for the rest of the night.

Tonight in the bar we're hosting a pub quiz to support the Gay Theatre Festival and I'll be doing the quimistress duties. I'm very strict because they like it that way. Lots of great prizes from the likes of Warner Music, Hot Press, Gifted by Nature, Cully & Sully, Grey Goose Vodka and Bombay Sapphire and loads more. The quiz kicks off at 8pm, though if you haven't booked a table, best to get there a little early. And if you don't have a full team, not to worry, they'll sort you into one. Hopefully using the Sorting Hat. Hufflepuff!

Dizzy and I will be acting the fool and getting drunk and playing records this afternoon and evening in Pantibar. Dizzy might even pull a few pints and make a few coctails, cos like our Sunday prices, she's cheap.

I'm doing what? I'm dressing up as an archetypal female figure using makeup and costume? Ha! No seriously! And then I'll be attempting to entertain people? With random musings, music, and theatrical scenes? Ha ha. No seriously. Seriously?
Really? Well, if you're sure... And this happens in Pantibar at 10pm? OK. And people pay for this? Oh, they don't! It's free. Well, that makes sense. It doesn't sound very good.
