(and yes, I know it's not a dingo, it's an extinct "tasmanian tiger", but I was channeling Meryl Streep/Lindsay Chamberlain)

This trailer for an Aussie reality show where they are looking for a Priscilla stage star looks fun. And it has Toni Collette so I'm on board.
I'm off to Australia for a few weeks next November so if you are reading this in Tasmania or Sydney, keep your eye out for my old lady glamour. I'll post details of the gigs closer to the time. I can't wait! Going to be so much fun. Think I'll get my hair cut like Lindy Chamberlain before I go.

Popular Australian TV gameshow The Gruen Transfer pits competing advertising agencies against each other. In one segment called The Pitch, they invite two agencies to make short ads promoting a controversial idea, like invading New Zealand, or bringing back child labour. In four seasons of the show the only subject they had trouble finding two agencies to take on is this one: a campaign to ban all religion.
See the results of the two agencies who did take it on below. I like the first one best.

Paige Elliot Phoenix has a back story the audience didn't see coming (and I won't spoil it for you). Ronan Keating acts surprised but, with all these stories, I wonder if all the judges are really so surprised - if Ronan wasn't told beforehand he might not have asked the right questions.
I know you can argue, with a lot of justification, that shows like The X Factor are exploiting people like Paige - who clearly are there because of their story - but you can also argue that it's progress just to see people like him on tv and shown in a positive, and not tragic (or freakish) light. So, on balance, I say "Well done Paige".
(thanks Keith)
