The traditional Chinese folk art of making edible sugar drawings is apparently rarely seen anymore. The best part is at the end when he puts it on a stick for the kid to eat - though seems a (delicious) pity to eat it.
You might want to skip ahead a bit because the first minute is just him melting the sugar in a small wok.
(thanks Laurie)

I get this way about a Victoria Sponge occasionally, just not a regular sponge - even one as crafty as this one.
I'm not sure what it says about me that both Chris and Lar saw that video and sent it to me. Am I an excitable crafty lady?
I can more easily see why Adam sent me this picture which he labelled "doppelgänger". I can see a certain similarity... between me and Las Vegas drag legend Frank Marino who was appearing on Most Shocking Plastic Surgeries! I didn't see the show myself so I'll just have to imagine what her most shocking plastic surgery was.
..... Ewwwwww!

This Laptop Compubody Sock is designed to provide for privacy, warmth, and concentration in public spaces. I'm not sure about breathing. Perhaps there's another device under there for that. This is just one creative melding of homespun craft and technology wrought by Brooklyn-based artist Becky Stern, whose Body-Technology Interfaces project includes a collection of socially-aware, purposeful knitted technology "cozies."

I am not one for fancy ornaments - I just look at them and see a dust-catcher - and an ornate candle seems particularly futile. However, I always find watching a skilled craftsman ("craftsperson"?) at work fascinating. The confidence and speed with which she carves it is impressive.

Yep, they're not photographs, they're needlepoint. Linda Behar makes these incredible embroidered landscapes by first taking a photograph that she prints on to fabric before getting to work with her needle.
"Since 1993 I have been taking photographs and then rendering them in embroidery. My pieces are small - often about 4" x 6", a size and format that echoes the photos on which they are based. I build the image stitch by stitch, criss-crossing and overlapping thousands of flecks of color. My colored stitches, laid side by side or atop one another, are like the dabs of paint of Monet or Seurat - pointillistic color mixing. But the Impressionists wanted to portray a fleeting moment in time, whereas I want to convey a sense of timelessness. I try to capture the essence of a subject, to imbue with monumentality even humble vegetables, rocks, and marsh grass. The most important consideration for me is capturing the particularity of light."
