According to dlisted, Michael Jackson's kids may go t the eldest Jackson sibling, the relatively sane, and least talked about, sister Rebbie Jackson. But who cares about that when we have this - her song Centipede! The video is amazing, she's amazing, and the song is nutty amazing! Love it.

Sunset Driver is an unreleased demo track that Michael Jackson recorded for the Off The Wall album, but it didn't make it on to the album. It should have, 'cos it's fun-kay!
This fan made video below isn't very good, but it's embeddable. This one is better, but it's not embeddable. Take your pick.

The cover of the new issue of Q Magazine feature a warts-and-all portrait of Michael taken shortly before his death. His damaged nose, his gaunt face, his clearly visible wig, his greying stubble... It's all there.
Click the link above to see it a bit bigger.

Great article from the New York Times about Michael's dancing.
Michael Jackson will be remembered as a great and widely imitated mover. Other things about him will be remembered too, but it is amazing how many of them are apparent in his dancing. The sweet boy, the angry dissident and the weirdly glamorous star are all there; and so is the androgyne who gives off conflicting male/female signals in the course of a single number. You can see what he has learned from the urban tensions of “West Side Story,” the disco craze of “Saturday Night Fever,” the jazz-based choreography of Bob Fosse and from a line of divas from Judy Garland to Diana Ross. (There’s even a little Audrey Hepburn there.)
(Thanks Squirleen)

I haven't really posted much about Michael's death, because there are millions of other people doing that so there doesn't seem much point.
But I was a massive MJ fan. Thriller was the first album I ever bought with my own money, rather than cadging off my older siblings. (My first single was Boney M!) I still have it, and it's from the first printing, so the lyrics to Vincent Price's part in Thriller, printed on the inner sleeve, are wrong because it was edited differently just before the album release. He was my first obsession. I dreamt about him, about being him. I made my mother go out and buy Time magazine for me when he was on the cover, and I still have it. When I heard he died, I was on stage and couldn't really take it in. When I came off stage, there was a text from my sister saying "You were the first person I thought of".
But oddly, I was more upset over poor Farrah Fawcett, another of my early idols. I was sad that her passing was going to be over-shadowed, reduced to a footnote, when she should have had her moment. But more than that, the Michael Jackson that I adored, died many years ago, a process that started around the Bad years, and continued rapidly thereafter. When I look at pictures of Michael from before that, I still feel that love for him, brought back to my idolizing youth. But when I see pictures of him from more recent years, I don't even see the same person. I did my grieving for Michael long ago.
Anyway, here's Dolly's thoughts.
And here's Michael's legendary performance from the Motown 25 celebrations when the world was introduced to the moonwalk. It's an incredible performance, and I still remember the shock of it at the time. We had never seen anything like it! It seemed like it was magic. The next day in school it was all we talked about. How had he done that?! On the video the audience literally screams with disbelief! And he only does it for a second (twice).
This is the Michael I remember.

... despite what people say about some of his more ludicrous fashion choices, because this is what Jordan Chandler, the boy at the centre of the original Jackson allegations looks like now. I remember at the time thinking he was a beautiful kid who'd grow up to be a ride. And I wasn't wrong. Slurp!
