I know I said I'd take photographs at the MILK festival, but as it happened I was too busy/drunk/lazy and so instead here are a few I've blatantly stolen off Facebook (mostly off photog Peter Fingleton of Sharp Shock) which I present with apologies to the people who actually own them. (Get over it! You've been stealing my soul for years)
I had a blast at the festival. Great weather, great crowd, great vibe, lots of fun. I was emceeing the main stage all day, but had plenty of time between acts to run around the festival site and hang out with the gays. Managed to catch Roisin Murphy's fantastic set in the Dance Arena. She presented a kind of Kraftwerk-style show, dj-ing to custom visulas, mixing in her own tracks and singing live, acting louche one minute, the next crawling over the speakers and working the gays into a frenzy. Is there anyone cooler than Roisin at the moment? No. No there isn't.
And yes, I know I should have got pics with Alexandra, Bananarama, Sophie, Samantha etc but I kept forgetting even though they were all sweet as pie. Those girls know which side their gay bread is buttered on.
