I went to see Philip McMahon's play All Over Town in the Queer Notions festival on Tuesday night and it was wonderful - funny, touching, incisive, dark at times. But of course I would say that because I love Philip. So don't take my word for it, take The Irish Times' word for it.
All Over Town runs until Saturday at The Project Arts Centre.
I can't go to anything in Queer notions today cos I'm a hard working huge woman, but tomorrow I'm going to see Niall Sweeney's performance lecture Dancing At The Crossroads: Glamour Rooted In Despair, and David Hoyle in This Is My Fucking Truth.
Can't wait!

I saw the first production of this play two years ago and I can't recommend it enough - though the show has been re-written for this all new production. Written by Philip McMahon (the busiest man in Irish theatre - one of the creative forces behind the very queer and very productive thisispopbaby theatre company, Writer In Association at The Abbey Theatre, and indeed the director/producer of my own theatre work) it's a one man show about a young Irish gay finding himself, and trouble, in Australia.
All Over Town
by Phillip McMahon
Directed by Tom Creed
Featuring Dylan Kennedy
“Life isn't about finding yourself. It's about creating yourself.”
Just ask Seán. He's swapping the grey of Dublin for the neon of Bangkok and the bright lights of Sydney. His agenda? Fun, beer and sex: in no particular order. He just wants out of Ireland and away from his family and friends... but everything comes at a price.
All Over Town is a dark and comic odyssey that follows one young gay man’s journey to discover himself at whatever cost.
Playwright Phillip McMahon (Writer in Association, the Abbey Theatre 2009 / director of 'Panti, All Dolled Up') teams up with director Tom Creed (Associate Director at Rough Magic) to create this smart and sexy all new production that will take you to the other side of the world.

According to this report, Chastity, or "Chaz" as he prefers to be called, intends to transition from female to male.
Is there anything Cher won't do to keep her gay fans?

That's Cher on the left....
